Taking the time to decipherable at least some of the scrolls that are in the "best" condition is not easily done under the present location or circumstances. Probably you are damaging some of them as you go. From what you can tell most of the scrolls appear to deal in prophesy. But the events they speak of appear to have already unfolded years or centuries before. Many scholars and servants of Larissa would find that maddening. For example, in addition to a prophesy that just has to be a warning about the fall of the Godswall, there is also warning of the "son of nature, gripped with madness, spreading chaos, tearing maps" – probably references to Emperor Quron val’Dellenov who reigned 300 years ago.
The veracity of some scrolls is unclear. At least two scrolls suggest that an Emperor "under Altheres’ patronage" would be threatened by the Patriarch who would seek to become both Patriarch and Empire, a result that would create chaos and destruction. The initially reading seems to refer to the near assassination of Emperor Marellius val’Assante, but history clearly records (from multiple sources) that it was not Patriarch Hulantin but General Erdul val’Virdan who attempted to assassinate both leaders in the attempt to reestablish the old theocracy of Neir. Of course it may just be that these scrolls are taken out of context and with a real examination some truer meaning might emerge.
