You are now far from the southern sea, safe in a comfortable bed in Naeraanth, but you awoke this morning, uncomfortable and sweating after a disturbing dream
You dreamt of that place, the island where the Children of Leviathan stalked the waves and jungles of Milguldihar. In the dream, it seemed as though you were flying, through lovely emerald forest and over verdant tropical reefs alive with dancing colorful fishes. It was low tide, and there were many sparkling tide pools along the scented breezy coast. Some movement caught your eye, so you turned to see what it was.
A lone girl, not eight summers old, frolicking amongst the tide pools. You drew closer, wondering what a helpless child might be doing in such a place. As you approached her, she beckoned you forward, humming and skipping merrily along the rocky beach, to a lone tide pool beneath the cool shade of a giant gnarled tree on the shore. You stood over her as she looked into the pool and dropped a squirming crab into it, and you saw what held her attention. The crab scuttled about for a bit, and then suddenly snatched up by tiny tentacles from an emerging octopus no larger than your fist. However, that was not the disturbing part. What disturbed you was the reflection of the girl in the glassy water’s surface…that of a smiling angel, with filed and sharpened teeth as jagged as a shark.
